My Current Favs:

My Affordable “No-Makeup” Makeup Look

I’ve always enjoyed natural makeup looks. I for one don’t wear makeup on an everyday basis, but when I do, this is my go-to routine to get that natural makeup look. Of course on the weekends or if I go out, I will make the look a little more dramatic. Since I don’t wear makeup everyday, majority of products are purchased at a drugstore making this look super affordable for anyone on a budget.

I RARELY put on foundation. I do not like the feeling of a thick foundation on my face. So, I have stuck to using my trusty concealer and sometimes using this CC+ cream from IT Cosmetics. I put the CC+ cream on my face when I have discoloration and need a little bit more coverage. It’s not too thick and is by far my favorite CC cream I have tried. But, majority of the time I stick to using the concealer. My favorite drugstore concealer is Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind in the colors light and fair. I find it’s light on my skin, but if need, you can build on layers. I’ll put this under my eyes and any problems areas that needs covering. I’ll then set those concealed areas with the Neutrogena Shine Control Powder.

Next is eyeliner. I love a good cateye, but when it comes to a natural look, I will do a small cateye with a brown eyeliner and smudge it out. I have hooded eyes, so I feel like a black eyeliner can sometimes look too harsh for my eye shape. By smudging out the brown eyeliner, it defines my lash line, but doesn’t over exaggerate my hooded eyes. The eyeliner I use is Maybelline Unstoppable eyeliner in espresso.

On top of the lid and into the crease, I like to use this cream eyeshadow by Glossier in the shade Cub – a really pretty rose gold color that make blue eyes pop. When you blend the color on the eye, it does become pretty sheer, but I don’t mind that since I am going for a natural look. It does its job by giving some color and sparkle to my eyes. The reason I put this on AFTER my eyeliner is to cover the liner slightly to give a more natural look. Also, it’s great for correcting any mistakes I made with the eyeliner or if I didn’t smudge it out enough.

Next is pretty simple, I curl my lashes with an eyelash curler and put on mascara. My all time favorite drugstore mascara is the Maybelline’s Falsies Mascara in either brown or black. It coats my lashes perfectly without clumping and the shape of the wand helps maintain the curl of the lash.

These next steps are my FAVORITE steps to this look – bronzer, highlighter, and brows. I put my bronzer basically everywhere because in the fall/winter months, I AM SUPER PALE. Bronzer gives some life back to my face and highlighter gives me a glow that I’m obsessed with. The bronzer I use is from the brand Kiko Cosmetics (I think you can only purchase this online). The highlighter I like is the Glossier haloscope in shade moonstone. This color is the lightest shade in the collection. I like it and it does give the dewy look I want, but I do think it’s a little too sheer for me. So when this runs out I might purchase a darker color from the collection. Next is brows. I already have pretty full brows, so I don’t usually fill them in. If I do, I use this IT Cosmetics brow pencil. Normally, I brush my brows up (obsessed with that look right now) and use a brown eyebrow gel to keep them in place while adding some color. I use Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Eyebrow Gel in the shade brown.

Last but definitely not least – LIPS. These two products combined is my holy grail lip combo. I always use this lip combo with any eye look that I’m doing. In my opinion, it gives the perfect natural, nude look. The lip liner is from Sephora’s lip liner collection called Bite in the shade 020. The lipstick is from Maybelline (shocker – can you tell I like Maybelline products?) in the shade 235 Warm Me Up.

Voilà! There you have it – a simple and affordable “no-makeup” makeup look! All of the products with their prices are linked down below! What are your go-to natural makeup hacks? Also, any recommendations for an awesome highlighter?

xo, Maggie
